When it rains, it should NOT look like a water fall!

When gutters overflow, there is a chance that water is getting inside the home where you can’t see it happening. If you haven’t watched your gutters in the rain, you can usually tell if they’ve been overflowing by seeing if there’s debris stuck to the front of the gutter.
What are gutters FOR? Gutters are designed to channel the water to the ground gently and away from the foundation. Keeping the wood behind and below dry.
What happens when they overflow? All that water pours heavily against the home and in some cases floods your basement. Gutters are the first line of defense for protecting your foundation and structure. When they aren’t flowing like they should, they cause a lot of rot and damage.
It’s an important responsibility as a homeowner to make sure your gutters are working. If you see water coming out of the downspout that’s good it means it’s not clogged, but it doesn’t speak for exposed or rotting wood hiding above the gutter. This is the type of attention we specialize in.
Gutters should be inspected at least once if not twice a year. We at Glammer Hammer care just as much as you do about your home and are willing to educate you about any of the problems that you didn’t know that are happening, if you see any of the warning signs occurring give us call or email us to get a free estimate.
